India is the fastest growing telecom network and ranks first among the top 10 emerging mobile markets in the world.  

The objective of "Project India" is for the upliftment of the living standard and to accelerate technological advancement: 

1. Reduce the digital divide in the country by providing services that are efficient, affordable and accessible to rural and urban Indians.
   
   
2. Establish a mega Telecom Project in India of over 100 million lines within a span of 5 years.
   
   
3. Launch Project "INDIA" ( Integrated National Development through Information Access) to Indian villages in terms of EDUCATION, INFRASTRUCTURE & HUMAN DEVELOPMENT that :
   
   

   (i) Enable free flow of information and knowledge to improve decision making and 
       participation of rural households, enterprises, communities, etc. for economic growth.

   (ii) Provide rural population the opportunity to leverage the produce to its full economic value.

4. AHAR (Aggregation of Horticulture & Agricultural Resource) Planning for the development of alternate method of agro product transactions pertaining to food grains, cash crops and horticulture produce using information access.
